My name is Marian Robinett and I am a crafter. You name the craft and I have probably tried it.
I was collecting stamps for a project, but never got around to using them. A friend of mine and I were talking and she discovered that I had been collecting stamps. So, she invited me over one day and a new hobby was born. The creating of handmade cards and projects using Rubber Stamps, inks, papers, markers…. well you get the idea, has now become a passion of mine.
The love of Rubber Stamping has lead me into helping my Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I assist her in coming up with cards for her work shops. During these workshops people could always tell if a card was one I had a hand in designing….. You would often hear words softly spoken saying things like this is putty, it has so much detail… Which lead to everyone to say it’s a Marian…
But I digress a little…. helping my demonstrator come up with the cards lead to the question of how much card stock do I need to cut for x number of cards.. After several times of manually figuring it out, I thought there had to be an easier way and my first on-line tool was born.
My second on-line tool came about with me always wondering what a 1/4″ vs 1/8″ border would look like. I hated cutting card stock just to decide I liked a smaller border instead, or maybe I liked the 1/4″ but in a different color. I wanted a way to visually see the difference quickly without cutting a lot of card stock.
I started working on a third tool for color combinations but why reinvent the wheel when you don’t have to. I came across an excellent color combination tool, just like the one I wanted to make (I would love to know the code behind this for learning purposes), all ready created and available on-line that I just love.. I did add the links to this tool on my tools page, as I wanted a way to find it easily.
If you have an idea for a tool that will help you in your card making please let me know. I will see what I can come up with.
